Resins and Incense

Resins and Incense

“Matter and its powers, a magical togetherness”

Incense and resins have been used for thousands of years by our ancestors and many different cultures. This meant burning plants and natural materials to purify their essence and receive their benefits.
In truth, it is impossible to trace their use because they are so deeply ingrained in our culture. However, even today, we have all at least lit a stick of incense—perhaps for the peaceful atmosphere it brings or for its reassuring and beneficial fragrance.
But simply having the right incense or resin is not enough. There is a difference between going through the motions and entering into a meaningful process. It's not just about what you do, but how you do it.
In this module, we will touch on visualization, discuss both the physical and energetic use of these materials, and experience their effects. We will also learn how they can be used to support ourselves, cleanse our homes, enrich daily rituals, or accompany us as we travel.
This Incense Initiation workshop can be beautifully supported by the “Energy Visualization” workshop, which deepens the inner connection at the heart of the practice.

TEACHER'S INSIGHT

As with each workshop, the study of resins opens and refines perception in a deep and essential way. When tree essences are offered to the fire, placed upon glowing charcoal, their
power unfolds, impacting the ether — and us along with it.

In this approach, resins become teaching supports in their own right. They guide us in observing what is released, what rises, and in understanding the impact they may have on our inner state.

By their nature, resins are entirely natural and rooted in ancient traditions and knowledge passed down to this day. This workshop is thus presented as a space for exploration and embodied experience, favoring direct perception over theoretical or purely descriptive learning about incense.
